I replaced the lid with this same item on my first nalgene which I utterly abuse, drop on rock surfaces, throw around on pavement, etc, and just replaced the second one. Both of these lids I had on the bottles for about 5 years of this constant wear. If you do what I did for a while and try to hang the bottle off a bag using just the plastic strap on this lid, it is going to wear down eventually, but the lids are very affordable for the amount of abuse they can hold up against.

This Nalgene bottle is OLD- like over 20 years! The cap hinge finally snapped, so this is all I needed to put it back in the rotation.

Needed a replacement top after almost loosing my water bottle in the potomac after part of the top broke. this fits my nalgiene perfectly, and tbh it looks better than the old top did.

The lid that came with my Nalgene broke so I ordered this one. It threads and seals great. It is kind of hard to clean, though, as dirt can get trapped in the threads and behind the seal. The plastic tether is also rather springy which can be a little annoying when filling the bottle. The grips along the outside do make it easy to open.
